Our G-Girl of the week is Majorca Carter. In 2001 she founded Sustainable South Bronx and secured 30 million dollars in funding for the South Bronx Greenway Project. This is a community led plan for a bicycle/pedestrian greenway along the South Bronx waterfront. Sustainable South Bronx also address other issues such as land use, energy, transportation, water and waste policy and education to advance economic rebirth of the South Bronx. I love stories like this! All it takes is a Single Green Female working hard for her community and to get government officials to green up thier act!
