Frugal Fashionista Friday!

So it's mad cold in berlin and really hard to look cute when you go outside. Today the sun was shining so I actually took some care with my outfit today :) I decided to take my favorite summer dress and give it a winterized look with my YSL tights I found at Humana for 16 euros and burgundy turtleneck that is also from Humana for 6 euros the belt was a recent find for 1 euro! I worked on a little DIY last week and upcycled this sweatshirt (2 euros) for Michaela I tapped into my embroidery skills and embroidered DOPE and added studs I think it came out pretty great I know Michaela loves it!

Green Seams Thursday Let's Hear it for the Boys!

I don't remember exactly how I found the Bklyn Dry Goods website but I'm sure glad I did! A purveyor of all things wonderful, vintagy and eco friendly for men, Bklyn Dry Goods founders Jahn Hall and Kurt Uhlendorf has made the tedious task of finding vintage clothes for men simple and chic. When you go through the website it's hard to tell you are visiting a vintage shop and the look book is........ well shall we say I don't know what looks better the clothes or the guy wearing them ( sorry Jakob but you know I love only you :) They also carry eco face products and soy candles by Apotheke  Co. just in case a green girl is looking for something for their green guy this Valentines Day! I love the pocket square that is hand sewn and dyed by Brooklyn based label Study NY. This is definitely a time when I wish I was back in NY, they are perfect for shopping local and your carbon footprint!

Green Seams Thursday.... Olga Road

Love!!

Bomber's are always a must!

Vintage Leather Trench to Stylish Jacket

Original Parts Retained!

I have been an avid vintage shopper since high school I would find something in a magazine hone in on the look and scour vintage stores to find something similar! The particular item I remember was a shoot with Nadja Auremann wearing a fur collared black coat.  I visited every goodwill and salvation army in Toronto. I found this beautiful leather coat with an amazing fox fur collar, I know your probably wondering where I am going with this story. Well after finding this amazing coat there was one flaw it was too long and missing the belt so I cut the bottom hemmed it with leather glue and made a belt with the left over piece of leather. I rocked the shit out of that coat with everyone asking where I bought it :)

The moral of my story is, it's amazing what you can do when you set your mind to it and Olga Road has hit the nail on the head! They upcycle old leather trench coats  into fabulous biker and bomber jackets. So the next time you feel bad about buying a virgin leather coat, visit Olga Road's website they have an array of stylish sustainable options to chose from!

Monday Must Have List! High Low Look

I have always loved mixing high end and low end looks, that is why I have put together an outfit I feel would be perfect for the office or drinks with friends. The high end look of Stella's top and the low end of Single Green Female's skirt make a great combination especially paired with Olsen Haus vegan shoes, and upcycled clutch by Sheila Odessey made from trash and garment bags ah-mazing!!! Nothing beats the beautiful accessories by A Peace Treaty, both accessories can be found at Vogue Vert the one stop shop for the perfect eco friendly accessories.

Frugal Fashionista Friday!

This is a throw back to fall while I sort through all of my pictures from Morocco. This was such a beautiful fall day, Michaela and I went to the Mauer Park flea market. I wore my vintage sweater 16 euros leopard scarf $10 I bought it on Broadway close to 34th street where they have those wholesale vendors. Red Pants I also bought on Broadway in Soho for $20 I try not to spend to much money on trends (colored jeans) because they go out of style quickly. Lastly my vintage gucci clutch I bought when I was in high school which was eons ago so I can't remember the price, I don't think it was to expensive though.

Looking forward to next week when I will be back to the regular schedule. Have a wonderful sustainable weekend :)
