The Look For Less!

Yay! new items in my etsy shop. Just in time for the music festivals this spring/summer. I like to think that I follow fashion quite closely and when I saw the sparkly shoes and the safari jumpsuit I immediately thought of Mui Mui and Michael Kors. I snatched the shoes and the jumper up for my shop right away because who doesn't love getting the look for less :)

Monday Must have List!!!

I hope you don't mind if I get on my soap box and give a standing ovation for Hand in Hand Soap what an amazing idea! I love the concept when you purchase something you give something to those more needy. Did you that each year that 5 million people, mostly children, die in poor parts of the world from diarrhoeal diseases and respiratory infections....WOW that's crazy!
Hand in Hand Soap is on a mission to try to eradicate the lack of proper hygiene in impoverished parts of the world They have created a super eco friendly soap that is paraben free, petrochemical free 100% vegetable based with eco friendly packaging and shipped with a carbon offset!!!! Now that is uber uber eco friendly and my kind of people.  You can purchase this amazing soap at Anthropologie

Green Seams Thursday!

I love love Isabel Marant everything she makes looks so comfortable and boho chic! I saw this sleeveless jacket on the NY times Collection app on my ipad and I thought it was an ingenious idea. An over sized jacket without the stuffiness of sleeve's. When I found this jacket in the thrift store I thought "Hey I can up cycle this over sized jacket into something chic" and Voila here is my Isabel Marant style jacket. You are probably wondering why there is no before picture sorry I was a little over zealous and forgot to take the picture before :(

Tree Saver!!!

Thank G for Paperless Post! I was first introduced to Paperless Post several years ago when my friend sent me an uber nice invitation to her birthday via email. I was amazed and excited, the invitation was so pretty like something you would find in Kate's Paperie. I instantly signed up and spread the word to my friends. My Best friend used it for her save the date and wedding invitation's last year, hence the reason for this post. I have been to many weddings and I have saved the invites but honestly there are only so many invites you can save!! And what about the tree's don't they need saving!!! That's why I love Paperless Post it's good for the environment and of course good for your pocket!

Monday Must have List!!!

So I have decided to start a Monday Must Have List! This catalogs all the green goodness that I am coveting and for this weeks must have list I am getting my spring wardrobe ready and have sourced a few key items that are good for me and the planet! Yay! When I saw the feature of Warby Parker glasses and sunglasses in Vogue Magazine I was instantly besotted. How amazing is it that they provide glasses for people who can't afford glasses and make them affordable for us too. Prescription glasses that are for less than $100 sign me up!

I am totally loving the clogs right now Lotta from Stockholm is a little cheaper than the Swedish Hasbeens but both equally cute and perfect for that boho summer look plus they are eco friendly and super comfy. All the clothes were found on Etsy the best place to find vintage on line :)

Today's post is going to be short and sweet I'm editing and uploading new stuff to my etsy shop so stay tuned! Today for Eco Wedding Wednesday I found this beautiful picture on Dreamsicle Day, of milk glass which is my most favorite thing in the world. With the exception potato's avocado's my daughter my boyfriend family and friends phew!!! I absolutely J'ADOR milk glass. When I'm in New York I jump from thrift shop to thrift shop in search of the great white wonder I am particularly fond of the hobnail version and kinda detest the ones with the fruit!!! How does this all tie into weddings you may ask??? Well milk glass is beautiful and cheap as chips which equals perfect wedding decor! Good for your wallet and good for the environment!

Today in up cycle land I found this fabulous shop on etsy Trixie Delicious, which up cycle's those old plates you see at thrift stores and think "I don't need anymore plates"..... well at least that's what I think. When I saw the clever sayings I became obsessed and spread the word to my friends! How wrong but so right is the skank plate! There's a not so subtle way of letting someone know what you think of them hahahahaha Can't let my boyfriend see the Trouble Maker plate....that's his nick name for me!

What the Fracking Hell!

This is my first post for  WTF Friday's where I take a look at all the eco wrongness going on around the world.

MEANING OF FRACKING: According to the website Canadians.org "Fracking is a technique that involves the injection of millions of litres of water and thousands of litres of unidentified chemicals underground at a very high pressure in order to create fractures in the underlying shale rock formation to extract the natural gas below the surface"

WHERE IS IT HAPPENING? Throughout North America and other parts of the world. But a main place of concern is in Pennsylvania and the New York Region. I came across a New York Times article from November of last year and it was discussing Amwell Township in PA. A small town that is sitting on top of Marcellus Shale Deposit. One of the worlds largest fields of Natural Gas.With the use of  Shale gas this allows the US to be less dependent on foreign oil.......But at what cost??

THE EFFECTS OF FRACKING: There are two major effects of fracking that we should be concerned about. The threat to our drinking supply and the air. Through the process of shale gas extraction there is a lot of water being used and the amount of hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds that pollute the air.
On the All Voices website there is a video of a man lighting his tap water on fire WHAT THE FRACK!!!
